top-news

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during a public meeting in Nanded, Maharashtra, referring to him as a “shehzada [prince]” and suggesting that he might seek a safe seat after the elections. Modi compared Gandhi’s potential departure from Wayanad to his loss in the Amethi constituency in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections.

Highlighting Rahul Gandhi’s defeat in Amethi to BJP leader Smriti Irani, PM Modi remarked, “Shehzade and his gang are waiting for voting to happen in Wayanad on April 26. The moment voting will conclude in Wayanad… they [Congress] will look for a safe seat after April 26. They will have to field him from somewhere else.”

The Prime Minister also indirectly targeted Sonia Gandhi, noting that some leaders from the INDIA bloc had transitioned from the Lok Sabha to the Rajya Sabha, indicating a lack of confidence in contesting elections directly. He mentioned Sonia Gandhi’s decision not to contest the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 and her uncontested entry into the Rajya Sabha this year.

During his rally in Maharashtra, PM Modi highlighted the internal conflicts within the INDIA bloc, suggesting that post-elections, these factions might face more challenges within their coalition. He also referenced Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s critical remarks about the Congress, emphasizing the complexity within the bloc.

PM Modi’s remarks come amidst the ongoing election fervor and reflect the political dynamics and rivalries between different parties and alliances. The anticipation and speculations surrounding Rahul Gandhi’s constituency choice add to the intrigue of the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
